Dengue in Bangladesh
As of 2 September 2025, a total of 32,501 dengue cases, and 125 deaths have been reported in Bangladesh since 1 January 2025. Please see our Topics in Brief article for further details on dengue.
Mpox in Turkey
As of 28 August 2025, a total of three cases of clade Ib mpox have been reported in Turkey since the beginning of 2025. The most recently detected case, diagnosed in late July 2025, reported a history of travel to the United Arab Emirates and Egypt. Two retrospectively reported cases reported a history of travel to Uganda. Please see our Topics in Brief article for further details on mpox.
Chikungunya in Italy
As of 27 August 2025, Italy has now reported a total of 63 locally acquired chikungunya cases in 2025. The highest number of cases (53) is currently reported in Modena province, Emilia-Romagna. Please see our Topics in Brief article for more details on chikungunya.
West Nile virus in Italy
As of 27 August 2025, a total of 430 cases of West Nile virus infection (including 27 deaths) have now been confirmed in Italy since the beginning of 2025. Lazio remains the most affected region. Please see our Topics in Brief article for more details on West Nile virus.
Chikungunya in Peru
Between 1 January and 9 August 2025 a total of 84 cases were reported, of which 16 were laboratory confirmed and 68 classified as probable. Confirmed cases have been reported in the departments of San Martin (14 cases) and Loreto (2 cases). No deaths have been reported.
cVDPV3 in Chad
As of 28 August 2025, one case of circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 3 (cVDPV3) was reported this week, with onset of paralysis on 20 June, from Chari Baguirmi. This is the first cVDPV3 in the country this year.
